Bio
This is a journal for me to post, edit, and get feedback on a Final Fantasy IV fanfic I've been working on. I was having trouble organizing it all on fanfiction.net, so I figured this might be easier until the fic is completely done.

As for a summary, well, I wouldn't know where to begin. It centers around Rosa, as its narrator, and her experience post game. No, this is not going to turn into another "A more powerful enemy has arisen, and the heroes must gather together to save the world again." There will be no world saving. Or huge, epic battles. Only Rosa's own personal demons, and a few others. =) I'm intending it to be quite lengthy.

Brandon is an original character, with credit to Shane for his creation.

Marin is an original character, with credit to Kohl for his creation.

The rest belong to Square.

Stuff written for bio on the Pit:

With the Paladin King's unexpected death, and his wife at the center of a conspiracy that has her fleeing her home, the once fragile magess is forced into a role other than the usual damsel in distress. Told in three drastically different narratives: short in-game scenes, writings from scholars in reflection, and Rosa Harvey herself. All of which will ultimately ask, and answer the question.. Are our lives shaped by the choices we make, or the choices made for us?

Yeah, I know, pointlessly cryptic.

And here's my rant: I love Rosa. She's my favorite character from the entire Final Fantasy series. It really pains me to see so much Rosa-bashing (seen in a few reviews of other FFIV stories), so please, if you dislike Rosa as a character, you will not enjoy my story. She is the main character, and sorry to disappoint, but, I never believed she was a doormat, or a pushover. White mages, by their very nature, as passive creatures. Rosa's role of damsel in distress was a necessary evil for the plot of the game to continue, but I don't think it's a personality flaw. Both times that she presented a problem for Cecil to take time and rescue, it's because she was out there taking action (traveling across the desert to find Cecil, and participating in Fabul's defense against Baronian forces), and doing something. A helpless damsel would have waited at home for her hero to return, once all the fighting was done. Even later in the game, Rosa refuses to be left behind, despite having the opportunity to go back home and be safe.

So, if anything, I think Rosa is a victim of circumstance throughout the game, and I think this is a theme I'm trying to carry out in my own fanfic. Leave love, leave criticism or tastelessly worded flames that declare I'm a talentless hack -- I'd welcome them all, but please, no Rosa-flames.

Thanks. And enjoy.
